Following a delay, Fear the Wolves is now ready for Steam Early Access
Fear the Wolves, which was initially supposed to hit Steam Early Access in July, was pushed back shortly after the start of the closed beta.
Feedback from the Fear the Wolves closed beta wasn't great, with most players complaining about various networking problems. Developer Vostok Games has seemingly took this feedback to heart, and it has returned with a new release date.
Fear the Wolves will now enter Early Access next week, on August 28. In case you missed it, Fear the Wolves is a battle royale shooter set in the ruins of Chernobyl. On top of the usual battle royale tenets like scavenging for gear and weapons, and fighting to be the last player standing, the game brings a few other interesting mechanics.
For starters, you'll be fighting against the changing environment in the form of radiation, and the AI-controlled wolves and other hazards. Extraction is also an involved process where players have to rope up to the helicopter rather than simply being the last one alive.
It's definitely an interesting take on the genre. You can check it out for yourself on Steam, where the studio will also be sharing a development roadmap for the new content and fixes it'll be working on down the line.
Fear the Wolves will exit Steam Early Access sometime in 2019.
