Cheeseburger the Bear can be your not so friendly grizzly friend in Far Cry 5, but in order to get the diabetic bear (yes, he's diabetic) as part of your team you're going to have to go on a lengthy quest. How to get Cheeseburger the Bear in Far Cry 5
As we mentioned, getting Cheeseburger the bear to be part of your team in Far Cry 5 isn't as easy as the tasks involved in getting the dog and cat companions. You're going to have to go on quite a journey to get Cheeseburger, but we've got all the details for you right here. First off, head to the F.A.N.G. Center in Jacob's Regions, northwest of the Baron Lumber Mill.
The F.A.N.G. Center is under cultist control, so when you arrive you'll need to liberate outpost. This is pretty tough, so we advise taking out as many enemies as possible while hidden. Reinforcements will be called if you cause too much of a scene, but it's still possible to prevail. If you feel overwhelmed by fire, head into the surrounding woodland and draw cultists to you, taking them out one by one.
When you've liberated the F.A.N.G. Center, talk to Wade (he'll pop up as a new character of note) and he'll tell you about Cheeseburger. He's been taken by the cultists, and it's now your job to find him. Wade tells you to get some salmon first, and obviously it's not as simple as buying some. You're going to have to go fishing.
Follow the quest marker and you'll reach a small river from which you can do some fishing. This is a nice change of pace, isn't it? How lovely. Cast your line out into the water and wait for a bite. Follow the game's on-screen instructions to catch the fish on your hook and reel it in. This took us some time, so be patient. Once you've landed the fish it's time to find Cheeseburger.
Head to Linero Building Supplies and take out the large group of cultists in the area. They've got Cheeseburger, and you can't get to him until they've all be dealt with. Once they are all dead, look around for Cheeseburger and you'll find him looking rather sad. Give him the salmon and suddenly he's your best friend. He darts off, but the cultists return and try to take him with them. Once again, kill the attacking enemies and then Cheeseburger will be added to your roster.

With Cheeseburger recruited, he can now be assigned to one of your recruit slots (you start with one, but this can be upgraded to two with the Leadership Perk). Cheeseburger is obviously amazing in a fight (he's a bear), but he also has the skills we've listed below:
- Bear Arms: Will exercise his right to attack
- Cross to Bear: Will draw focus during combat
