Far Cry 3 multiplayer developed by Ubisoft Massive
Ubisoft's multiplayer go-to team Massive is lending a hand with Far Cry 3.
The news comes courtesy of Kotaku editor-in-chief Stephen Totilo, kindly sharing news from Ubisoft's GDC event via Twitter.
Vox Games editor Brian Crecente added a few more hints as to what Massive is doing with Far Cry 3's online component: Apparently the multiplayer is referred to as an "online universe" and will incorporate "elements from the indie scene and social games".
The Sweden-based Ubisoft Massive also assisted with the multiplayer aspect of Assassin's Creed: Revelations, but is probably better known for Ground Control and World in Conflict. The developer is also apparently working on an unannounced MMO.
Ubisoft had promised not to break any news during GDC, as part of the organisers' push to tone down the media circus aspect of the event.
