Fallout 76's 'Country Road' is being sold for charity
Fallout 76's cover of Country Roads hits iTunes next month, with all of the proceeds going to charity.
The Fallout 76 reveal at Bethesda's E3 2018 show was accompanied by the series' customary pick of a classic song - John Denver's 1971 hit Country Roads was the soundtrack to the apocalypse this time around, but in this case, the song was a cover.
Bethesda hasn't divulged the artist's details, but it has announced that the song will release on iTunes next month, on July 4, and that all of the proceeds will be donated to Habitat for Humanity.
"In the spirit of Fallout 76 and global rebuilding, we’re proud to team up with Habitat for Humanity—a global nonprofit working in local communities across all 50 states in the US and in more than 70 countries, to advance the vision that everyone deserves a decent place to call home," read Bethesda's statement, via PC Gamer.
"Bethesda will donate 100% of its proceeds, with a minimum donation of $100,000, from sales of the single to Habitat for Humanity to assist in the organization’s goal of transforming lives and communities through affordable housing."
Bethesda has also said that "additional partnerships" with the charity will be announced in the run-up to the release of the game.
Fallout 76 will release on November 14 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
