Fallout 76 players want Bethesda to bring back an event quest bug

Fallout 76 players are asking Bethesda to remove a fix for one particular bug, and their reasoning actually makes sense.

Fallout 76 has had more than its fair share of bugs and issues of all kinds, but for the first time, players actually want Bethesda to leave one bug in the game.

Yesterday's patch 1.0.3.1 was big, boasting a couple of new features, and of course, a massive list of fixes. One of those was a fix for a glitch in the Feed the People event quest, which is the game's version of MMO public events where players on the same server have the opportunity to work towards a common goal.

In Feed the People, players are tasked with hunting for stew ingredients, and defending machines while the food is processed. It's a pretty straightforward event. Before the patch came out, everyone on the server received a can of stew at the end of the event.

This made sense given the quest's name, and players thought it was a nice touch that all players, regardless of whether or not they participated in the event, get some reward. It turns out, however, this was not Bethesda's intention.

The update removed the free reward, making it exclusive to players who took part. Since then, one of the most popular threads on Fallout 76's subreddit is full of players asking Bethesda to reconsider.

This isn't so much an outrage as it is a desire to bring back a neat feature, which was consistent with quest's name, not to mention is in the spirit of giving.

"That isn't feeding the people! In all honesty though I kinda liked the mechanic of giving everyone else an xp buff," the creator of the thread wrote, and many agreed.

In other Fallout 76 news, Bethesda recently promised to be more transparent in patch notes, after players discovered a number of undocumented changes.
