Fallout 76 players discover invisibility bug
Though they're not quite sure how to trigger it, some Fallout 76 players are reporting going invisible.
Reddit user AvengedClayFoldX posted a recount of a bizarre encounter he has been through in Fallout 76. After another player attacked their workbench and got a bounty on their head as a result, AvengedClayFoldX was free to kill them.
This is all standard fare, but it wasn't until he killed the attacker that AvengedClayFoldX was told they were actually invisible during the whole thing. What's more, the Reddit user is able to damage enemies but they can't do the same to them.
AvengedClayFoldX wasn't using a Stealth Boy or anything else to trigger invisibility, and they tried leaving the server and rejoining to no avail. In other words, he doesn't appear to teammates or enemies, but he's able to play the game normally.
After making the Reddit post, many others chimed in to say that they've run into the same problem. Some suggested using a Stealth Boy and waiting for the effect to wear off, saying that this should fix it.
The more players posted about their experiences, the more it became clear everyone expects to go invisible randomly at some point, so no one is quite sure what triggers it. For some, restarting usually fixes it, but others, like AvengedClayFoldX, have yet to find a fix.
Fallout 76 just received a patch, but it was mostly aimed at plugging a dupe glitch. Hopefully this is something on Bethesda's radar for next year.
