Fallout 4's new survival mode is nearly here

PC players can enjoy banging their heads against the monitor as early as next week.

Fallout 4 players on Steam can opt-in to beta builds in order to be the first try out the new and improved survival mode.

Although no firm date is available, Bethesda has said a beta build "should be" available on Steam next week. Patches usually roll out on consoles within two weeks of going live on PC, but we hesitate to take a guess at when this one will go live even on PC, as it may require extensive balancing testing.

The point is: things are moving along and we should soon have reports from the Master Race on how the new mode plays (spoilers: it's gonna be brutal). In the meantime you may want to consider the Automatron DLC; it's actually pretty good.
