Bethesda said with Fallout 4, its goal was to make mods easier and more accessible than be fore with its new Bethesda.net system which will allow users to find the "latest and greatest mods."
Those who use the service can favorite a mod, post feedback and install them ll within the game, as a Mods section will appear on the main menu.
The Creation Kit is a free download via the Bethesda.net launcher (auto downloads when you click that link), and if you need help with making your own content, there is a Creation Kit Wiki with plenty of information.
Bethesda plans to update and evolve mods and the Creation Kit based user experiences, and encourages feedback.
Here's how to access the 1.5 Update in Steam Beta:
- Log into Steam
- Right Click on Fallout 4 in your Library
- Select Settings
- Select Betas
- A drop down menu will appear. Select beta
- Select OK
- Wait a few minutes and Fallout 4 should update
- Fallout 4 should appear as Fallout 4 [Beta] in your Library
Mods will be coming to Xbox One in May and PlayStation 4 in June.
Bethesda said back in February official mod support would arrive in Fallout 4 in early April, with Todd Howard adding it would be a "good month before it hits Xbox One," and "another month for PlayStation 4."
Sound like everything is on track for the time being. We can't wait to see what everyone comes up with.
