Fallon producer confirms CliffyB reveal is Gears of War 3

Did the Xbox Live clanger from Friday not convince you it was coming? Let us repeat it to you, then: Gears of War 3 will certainly be announced tonight.

A producer for Late Night with Jimmy Fallon has dropped Cliff Bleszinski's bomb on the shows blog in two subsequent posts, after Microsoft pushed the button too early on its reveal last week.

The first post says:

"Clifford Bleszinski (aka CliffyB), is the design director for the game development company Epic Games and is a guest on Late Night tonight! He is most known for his continuing hand in the development of the Unreal franchise and the Gears of War franchise.

Stay tuned for a preview of Gears of War 3 tonight! For reals!"

Need more convincing? A second blog post said:

"Oh no big deal. Just a Lancer Assualt Rifle from the all new Gears Of War 3 produced by Project Triforce. Oh, and there's a Locust Drone behind me. You know, normal Monday. Tune in tonight to see more Gears of War 3 news and see some exclusive footage from GOW3. Yes? YES."

So yeah, Gears of War 3: it's almost certainly going to happen. And we'll be here when the lid gets lifted.

The Xbox Live ad from last week said the game will release in April 2011.
