Facebook to launch its own App Store

Facebook will launch its own App Center which will include not only apps available on the social network, but apps for iOS, Android, and even web and desktop applications. “The goal is to solve the app discovery problem… based on what you and your friends enjoy,” a Facebook rep told VentureBeat. The App Center will allow Facebook’s 900 million users to browse through the best in apps - both paid and free - and the apps listed will be personalized based on user and social data. The store will be similar to the iTunes App Store and offerings will feature ratings gathered from users. Data will be collected on how often users visit and linger on the app. More through the link.
