Eye-controlled game shown at CES

eye

A company called National Instruments has shown a bona fide eye-movement-controlled game at CES. It's fairly rubbish, but you can't have everything.

The version of Whack a Mole on show at the firm's stand in Las Vegas this week is controlled by a chap wearing sensors on his face.

There are four moles, one each for up, down, left and right. To be fair, the game doesn't appear to work very well at all.

So. It's a rubbish game that doesn't work properly. But he does hit the odd mole by flicking his eyes, so that probably means we're on the very verge of an eye-controlled gaming future.

More info on the tech, plus the source code, can be found at National Instruments's Waterloo Labs' web site.

Watch and see. The movie's from Venturebeat, via BigDownload.
