Epic Mickey 2 confirmed for PC and Mac

Junction Point has confirmed Epic Mickey 2 will launch on PC and Mac bring the game's launch platforms to total of six.

Warren Spector wouldn't offer any details on either PC, Mac or the upcoming 3DS version but instead offered that 800 people were working on the title in a new "virtual team" approach.

"It's pretty crazy," he told Eurogamer. "There's a lot of work that goes into it. There are a couple of ways you can approach it. You can either build a studio that has 700 people, which I desperately don't want to do, and didn't and don't and won't, okay? Or you can find partners around the world.

"So we have people working in Leamington in the UK, in Bulgaria, China, Canada, California, Utah. We have an enormous virtual team. It's not outsourcing. I've got to be clear about that. It's not that there are a bunch of artists in Shanghai [building] us barrels and trees. We have people in the UK actually building levels for us, under our direction. We talk to them every day. We drive all the creative, but we have an enormous virtual team."

The 3DS version, called Power of Illusion, is made by developer Dreamrift, while the UK team is Blitz Games which is working on PS3 and Xbox 360 versions.

"We had Wii expertise," Spector said. "Blitz has great next-gen expertise. We've worked with them before. We've known them for years. Their design aesthetic is similar to ours."

Epic Mickey 2 is expected around the holidays.
