No Straight Roads, Airborne Kingdom, Superliminal and 5 other indies go Epic Games Store exclusive
The latest batch of games coming to the Epic Games Store get shown off in a new trailer.
Epic Games has revealed a number of new indie games coming exclusively to the Epic Games Store. Eight games, to be exact, were announced as part of the store's line-up today, with a new trailer rounding them all up.
Airborne Kingdom is the city management game where you build giant airborne cities. There's also an element of exploration there as you traverse the game's world in search of resources, and to uncover more of the lore - sort of a like a more serene version of Mortal Engines.
Manifold Garden is a first-person exploration game with a world made up of complex and bizarre geometry. It has a distinct art style that warps traditional architecture design to create some fascinating structures.
No Straight Roads is an action-adventure game with a strong musical component. Though it's not quite a rhythm game, developer Metronomik wants to tell a story using vocals and music. Metronomik is lead by Wan Hazmer, former lead designer on Final Fantasy 15, and Street Fighter 5 concept artist Daim Dziauddin. Their pedigree really shows in the game's style.
Superliminal is easily the most impressive of the a bunch; a physics-based puzzle game that uses forced perspective to set up some elaborate situations for players to navigate. Object depth is almost always not what it appears, which is what makes it so intriguing.
Today's showcase also includes Wattam, The Alto Collection, The Eternal Cylinder and Ooblets.
We spoke to many of the developers behind these about what pushed them to go Epic Store-exclusive.
