Elite Dangerous: Horizons heads to Xbox One in Q2

Horizons will feature both 2.0: Planetary Landings and the forthcoming 2.1: The Engineers expansions, both of which were originally slated for an April release.

The expansion allows players to "journey seamlessly" from space to surface and land anywhere they choose on simulated planets and moons located in the Milky Way galaxy. Upon reaching the surface, players just hop into the all-terrain SRV Surface Recon Vehicle and start exploring.

Engineers brings more personality and personalization by adding a range of customization and crafting options, making every ship in the galaxy unique.

Future gameplay updates will debut for PC and Xbox One simultaneously. These include:

  • Multicrew, allowing teams of players to assume roles aboard the same ship.
  • Commander Creation, giving a unique appearance to players’ in-game avatars.
  • Ship-Launched Fighters, allowing larger spacecraft to carry their own short-range fighter craft for attack and defense.
  • And more to be announced.

Elite: Dangerous players on PC can grab the 2.0: Planetary Landings and the 2.1: The Engineers expansions in May.
