Elite: Dangerous and Star Citizen to honour Nimoy with in-game memorials
Developers behind space exploration games Elite: Dangerous and Star Citizen will honour the memory of Leonard Nimoy through in-game memorials.
The develops of both games have confirmed separately that in-game memorials will be established to honour the memory of the late Star Trek actor, Leonard Nimoy, famous for playing Spock.
Elite: Dangerous executive producer Michael Brookes confirmed in a forum post that the studio will add a Nimoy Memorial station with the Wings update (1.2).
Cloud Imperium, developers of Star Citizen vowed to also honour Nimoy in some way in-game.
"Hey guys, no petition necessary," said community manager Ben Lesnick. "I think it's safe to say that Mr. Nimoy was an inspiration to all of us on the team, both acting as Spock and because of his core, kind humanity. We will find an appropriate way to honour him."
Last week, Star Trek Online developer Cryptic promised to add a similar thing to its game, following a player-driven gathering paying tribute to Nimoy.
Thanks, Eurogamer.
