It's more familiar, but way less hardcore - El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron used to rejoice in the name of Angelic, according to this prototype video.
The cutscene footage, which dates back to 2007, shows combat mechanics had already been sketched out, but the art style is somewhat different.
El Shaddai is already out in Japan, and is currently expected on international console networks in northern summer.
