EA says it would "love" to be the publishing partner for a Reckoning sequel

EA labels president Frank Gibeau has said hopes a sequel to Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning will be made, and that EA would "love" to the publishing partner.

Speaking with Videogamer, Gibeau said: "I think it's unfortunate how everything worked out [for 38 Studios]. At the end of the day, we saw a lot of creativity and vision in the team that Curt [Schilling] put together. We thought the game was terrific. It reviewed well.

"We built a good business there and hope there's a sequel to it someday," he continued. "We'd love to be a partner for that."

Reckoning sold 1.2 million copies, which was above EA's sales estimates, and Schilling has said there was a sequel in works at one time.

However, back in May, Schilling claimed the various comments Rhode Island governor Lincoln Chafee made to the media regarding 38 Studios “scared" the private investor on board, eventually dropping out of the deal and taking its $35 million with it.
