EA: FIFA "beating the heck out of" Pro Evolution Soccer

EA Europe president Jens Uwe Intat has told MCV that the company's FIFA series is "beating the heck out of" Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer.

"We continue to beat the heck of Pro Evo and across Europe we're taking 75 per cent of the football space," he said.

Intat also claimed that over 75 percent of football games sales went to FIFA over PES in Europe last year, at that the EA title even held its own against Infinity Ward's November juggernaut shooter.

"FIFA was neck and neck with Modern Warfare 2 [in 2009] to be the best-selling game across Europe."

When the game entered the UK charts at number one, until MW2 came storming in and sent GTA IV down a peg, it was the second biggest launch of a game in the UK ever.
