EA E3 2017: A Way Out, Need for Speed Payback, Star Wars Battlefront 2 were the most mentioned on social media
The EA Play of this year's E3 didn't have a single game that spiked in mentions on social media, according to analytics company.
Brandwatch, the data company that deliver analysis of social media trends, released its report about EA's E3 2017 Play event. According to the report, there were over 50,000 posts on social media about the show.
The posts all came in between 12-1pm PT, which was the conference's broadcast time. Of those interacting, 82% were male with only 18% female authors.
No one title shown caused a distinct spike in chatter, which could be a result of the presentation's rapid pace, jumping between presenters on the floor, trailers, before switching the focus to executives on stage.
Regardless, social media posts often referenced more than one title from the show in one go. Some words and game names were mentioned more than others, as you can see in the graph below. Amusingly, 'Men in Blazers' mentions often had words such as "cringe" associated with them.
As far as the top mentioned games from the conference go, A Way Out had the highest spike, with Need for Speed Payback, and Star Wars Battlefront 2 following after.
EA's show this year certainly had a different format. For instance, we didn't get 20 minutes of FIFA talk with famous footballer X, or even the gameplay innovations bit for Madden. It's clear A Way Out was one of the most talked-about games, and for good reason.
