Atlus makes "minor edits" to Dungeon Travelers 2 in order to avoid AO rating

Atlus has announced it has made "minor edits" to four in-game images contained in Dungeon Travelers 2 to avoid an AO rating by the ESRB.

According to a press release from the company, localization sometimes require changes to content in order for it to be "understood en masse," which is why it worked closely with developer AquaPlus to preserve the game's themes and content despite the edits.

"In order to comply with restrictions set forth by rating boards, Atlus made concessions on just four in-game images," reads the official statement. "On these images, some minor edits were made (and approved by the developer) to adjust the overt graphics to within acceptable ranges for the game's M-rating.

"We are very aware of what impact censorship can have on import titles; we are confident that the changes we made to the images in Dungeon Travelers 2 were the least invasive possible to still be eligible for a release in the west."

Atlus added the game remains as close to the Japanese version as possible, and preserves the original audio.

Dungeon Travelers 2: The Royal Library & the Monster Seal will be released in North America this summer on Vita. It arrives in Europe this fall.

The game will run you $39.99 through the PS Store or through retail. It is also compatible with PlayStation TV.
