Dreadline Kickstarter ends well short of its goal

The Dreadline Kickstarter has ended, falling well-short of its $167,000 goal, as 629 backers only pledged $23,408 towards the project.

Started by studio Eerie Canal, made up of former Irrational Games and Harmonix developers, the real-time strategy, action RPG centered around a band of monsters killing humans before they were killed by other means.

"Thank you so much for the support, reads the update on Kickstarter. "After working so long in the dark it's exciting to see the number of people that are excited about Dreadline.

"Unfortunately we fell far short of our fundraising goal. Rather than dwell on what went wrong, we're working to find alternate ways to fund the Dreadline's development. We've invested a huge amount of time and energy, and aren't quite ready to let go.

"Thank you again to all of our supporters. We'll do our best to find a way to get this game out into the world."

The game was slated for a release in August should the Kickstarter goal have been met.

Thanks, DSB.
