Drawn to Death will be F2P, but not in the traditional sense, says Jaffe
Drawn to Death, the online multiplayer arena shooter from David Jaffe’s studio The Bartlet Jones Supernatural Detective Agency, will be a free-to-play title on PlayStation 4; however, it won't be F2P in the traditional sense.
According to Jaffe's post on the Drawn to Death sub-reddit, the game is being developed by a team which "dislikes traditional free to play games very, very much."
"We don't like pay-to-win and we don't like taking play mechanics away from players simply to have them earn them or pay for them," he wrote. "That said, we love the discoverability of free-to-play and the very wide net it creates, allowing us to get many more folks giving our game a shot.
"We also love the idea of running a service-based title, constantly staying engaged with the fans of the game and adjusting aspects of the game on the fly to allow the game to hit the game's sweet spot."
Jaffe also said on Twitter he's looking into posting some new play footage of the title
Drawn to Death, which was announced during Sony's PlayStation Experience event in December, is currently in "full blown production" and is currently without a release date.
Thanks, Paradiger.
