Dragon Quest Builders 2's new trailer shows the game's amazing scope - and it's out next month

Dragon Quest Builders 2 looks delightful in this new trailer.

Dragon Quest Builders 2 received an extensive trailer during Square Enix's E3 presentation, showing off the new features and huge scope of this building sequel.

If you're a fan of the original - and a lot of people are, because it was pretty wonderful - you'll want to give this a look.

DQB2 is set in a world where building, cooking and creation have been outlawed by the evil Harkon and his children. You play as an apprentice builder, who escapes from their regime and sets sail for the Isles of Awakening to build a whole bunch of stuff. You'll be able to defeat the bad guys by...well, building a bunch of stuff. The goal is to become a 'Master Builder'.

You'll explore multiple islands in Dragon Quest Builders 2, each of which will have new tasks to complete and new builds to offer. The game looks like it's aiming to be massive - you can set islanders up to help with building tasks too though, which should lighten the load a bit. There are mines, castles, and vast oceans to explore too. You can also build a farm and use it to make produce, which is pretty neat.

There's four-player online multiplayer too, so you can build together. Overall it's looking like a great sequel.

Dragon Quest Builders 2 will release for PS4 and Switch on July 12. A demo will be made available on PS4 from June 27.
