Dragon Quest 11 announced for PS4, 3DS, and Nintendo NX
Square Enix has officially announced Dragon Quest 11.
Square Enix announced a number of Dragon Quest games in a 90-minute conference this morning. The conference was held in Japan and was the first official reveal of any game coming Nintendo's NX.
Starting with Dragon Quest 10 - which celebrates its third anniversary, Square Enix announced that the MMO is coming to PlayStation 4 and Nintendo NX.
Dragon Quest 11 was officially revealed as well. It's coming to PlayStation 4 and is using Unreal Engine 4. Developer by Square Enix with help from Orca, the game is also coming to 3DS and the NX. The home console version will be in the style of Dragon Quest 8.
The handheld version on the other hand will offer two viewing modes on the 3DS's screens. The top is reserved for the 3D game supporting 3D battles, and the bottom showing 2D sprites in the classic style, with support for 2D battles. Since we don't know what the NX is going to be, it's unclear which of these versions it will receive.
As for a western release, the publisher told Eurogamer: "We don't have a concrete plan at the moment. However, we will consider it as we've done in the past for other Dragon Quest titles."
