DraftKings raises $7 million in funding

DraftKings, a fantasy sports game service, has raised $7 million in funding. The money will be used to enhance the marketing and customer experience areas of the company.

The service, launched in April 2012, offers daily fantasy sports games for baseball, American football, basketball and hockey, with cumulative cash prizes in the millions of dollars.

DraftKings has an audience of more than 1 million users across web and mobile. The average user spends over 3 hours per week on the site and plays 2.6 different sports, according to CEO Jason Robins.
