Dota 2 International 2015 prize pool sits close to $16.6M, viewing parties announced
This year’s The International Dota 2 tournament pool has hit almost $16.6 million.
Along with announcing the huge prize pool, which keeps growing, Valve also sent word that viewing parties will be held in over 400 movie theaters across the US.
Those interested in attending the viewing parties may find information and purchase tickets via Fathom Events.
New Secret Shop merchandise has also been revealed and TI5 ticket holders can now place preorders on Secret Shop items for pickup at The International.
Online orders will be made available to the general public two weeks after TI5 concludes.
Earlier this month, the Dota 2 International prize pool hit its final $15 million stretch goal, which unlocked the Special Axe Immortal and Longform Comic.
Sales of the Dota 2 Compendium for this year have made the prize pool for The International 2015 the largest in eSports history. The International 2014 held the previous record, with nearly 11 million in total.
The fifth annual Dota 2 International returns to The KeyArena from August 3-8. Last year's tournament sold out in less than one hour, and was viewed online by over 20 million unique viewers.
