Dota 2 Compendium update adds fantasy league, player cards & more

Dota 2 developer Valve has announced a new update to the game's digital compendium, which adds a fantasy league and other fresh features into the mix.

Valve posted details of the update over on its blog, and explained how the Compendium's fantasy league works.

Basically, whenever Dota 2's 'International' eSports tournament is on, you can craft your own fantasy team based on players participating in the event and you'll score points if the real-world entrants perform well. It's like a fantasy football league basically. It's supported by event leaderboards, match predictions and more

You can also collect trading cards of real-world players taking part in the International, and stamp them into the Compendium like a sticker book, and take advantage of 125% XP boosts whenever the tournament is on.

The next International tourney will take place August 7-11 at the Benaroya Hall in Seattle. We'll have more coverage of the event as it happens.
