Doom now supports gyro/motion controls on Nintendo Switch
Bethesda has patched in motion controls for Doom on Nintendo Switch.
The Nintendo Switch version of Doom was patched overnight. Outside of some minor fixes, the biggest addition in patch 1.1.1 is that it allows players to play the game using motion/gyro controls.
Motion control support comes with its own set of options in the game's settings menu. The update was first noticed by Twitter user @names2hard4you, who was surprised to see motion controls upon launching the game and taking the patch.
The feature seems to be well implemented, according to multiple reports on ResetEra, and it's something some Switch owners have been asking for since Doom's release on the platform.
The video below from Jahranimo shows off how the controls work in-game, and the extent to which you can customise them.
"Gyro feels pretty good, especially for a player that's put in several hundred hours between both Splatoon games," said one user. "Gyro control is amazing and the audio issues are fixed!" celebrated another.
