Donkey Kong Country Returns looks rather fun

Nintendo sent over a fact sheet for Donkey Kong Country Returns from Retro Studios, and it looks like our ape hero has lost his bananas.

Literally.

In the game, animals on Donkey Kong Island are being controlled by evil Tikis and have raided Donkey Kong's Banana Hoard.

You are then tasked with getting your fruit back through platform play, and Diddy Kong helps you along the way with his backpack full of Peanut Pop Guns and a jet pack.

Two players can go into co-op mode, one as Donkey, one as Diddy and navigate the levels separately or as one unit. Diddy can ride on Donke's back and hop off whenever he pleases, as well.

Spell out K-O-N-G by the end of each level to earn an extra bonus, move Donkey using the Nunchuk and shake the Wii Remote to make Donkey slap the ground.
