DJ Hero biggest grossing new IP last year in US and Europe

Activision's claimed that DJ Hero was the biggest grossing new IP of 2009 in the US and Europe.

No exact figures were released, however.

"DJ Hero has transformed music gaming by marrying an innovative turntable controller and exhilarating gameplay with the biggest artists and incredible music from around the world," said Acti-Blizz president Bobby Kotick.

"Consumers and critics agree that DJ Hero is one of the best music games ever created and further establishes Guitar Hero as the premier franchise of its kind."

Despite that though, the game bombed in US and European charts, basically put.

It sold 118k in the October NPD, beaten by Brutal Legend's 216,000.

And it barely entered the UK charts top 20.

Last week, Activision confirmed it is planning a DJ Hero sequel.
