Disney Interactive appoints EA Mobile's Adam Sussman as senior VP
Following news that Disney Interactive has laid off staff, closed a studio and re-identified as a digital publisher, Adam Sussman, formerly of EA Mobile, has been named senior VP of publishing.
Gamasutra reports that Sussman's most recent position was as VP at EA Mobile, during the period in which the mega-publisher carved out a major App Store market share before announcing a push onto Android.
Prior to that, Sussman held a general managership at THQ; earlier, he had worked with Disney, making this latest move a sort of homecoming.
Sussman's experience should help ease Disney's troubled restructuring, as the company struggles to balance the reasonable success of Epic Mickey over the holiday period with the canning of Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada, failure of Tron: Evolution and Split/Second, and $763 million acquisition of Playdom last year.
