Disintegration dropping multiplayer and shutting down servers by November
After just a few months, multiplayer servers for Disintegration will be shutting down.
Disintegration, the hovercraft shooter from Halo co-creator Marcus Lehto, is removing all of its multiplayer elements.
Developer V1 Interactive said in the blog post announcing the change that the in-game store will be the first to go. Multiplayer support will follow in the coming months, ending November 17. After that point, Disintegration will only be playable solo, offline.
Sunsetting multiplayer also means the game's crews - customisable classes, will cease to exist. Since the game's multiplayer modes cannot be played against the AI, all of the maps and modes are also going away.
"While our player base showed interest in the single player campaign, the game unfortunately struggled to build a significant audience necessary for a compelling multiplayer experience," the announcement reads.
"After weighing options, we have collectively made the decision to sunset the multiplayer support."
Disintegration is V1 Interactive's first game, having been published under Take-Two's Private Division label. It released mid-June on PC, PS4 and Xbox One to a lukewarm reception by critics and players.
