Dishonored 2: Emily Kaldwin goes on a murder spree in this debut gameplay trailer
The game is set 15 years after the original. The team wants the game to resemble an oil painting, and their new Void Engine looks beautiful. You'll be able to play as either Emily Kaldwin or Corvo, the hero of the original game.
Arkane wants the environments to feel more coherant and complete, and they want to explore the history of the twin settings of Dunwall and Carnaca.
The Dust district was shown off, where dust storms can strike at any time. Players will be encouraged to make greater use of vertical space and explore rooftops.
Emily's mesmerise power was shown off; it allows her to focus enemies on a specific point and sneak by them unnoticed. She also has a far reach ability, which lets her grab enemies and objects from afar, and a 'Domino' power that links the fates of several enemies, allowing for creative multi-kills and stuns.
All of Emily's powers will be unique, with none of them carrying on from the original game.
Smith also showed off a manor setting, where Emily and Corvo's powers won't work, but time will flux between different periods. It looks like this level will allow for some particular clever pieces of puzzle-solving as you compare the past and present.
