Discord's Rich Presence feature now available, integrates games like Call of Duty: WW2 directly into the platform
Discord users can now see what their friends are playing with the launch of Rich Presence.
This week, Discord announced Rich Presence was available, and it integrates games directly into the platform.
Using this feature on Discord allows users to see what a friend is playing. It also shows what level they’re on, and provides users with the ability to jump in the game and "play alongside them with one click."
Discord launched the Rich Presence feature alongside Call of Duty: WW2 and there are 15 other publishers and developers on board for launch Starbreeze and Larian Studios.
If the game Discord users are playing supports Rich Presence, information will be visible in both the Mini Profile as well as the user's Full Profile. Also, depending on the game, users will be able to spectate directly from a Discord profile or even ask to join a party.
In order to take advantage of the new feature, Discord users will need to have run the supported game at least once in order to the service to detect it. Also, for those wanting to spectate, they will need to own the game they wish to view and be friends with the person playing it.
