Disco Elysium: Where to Get a Map of Martinaise
It's easy to get lost in Martinaise and Revachol without a map for reference. We can show you where to get one.
The world of Disco Elysium can often be confusing without something to guide you. Owning your own map is a big part of helping with that, so we'll show you how to find one and get the lay of the land.
Where to Get a Map
You can get a map by going to the bookshop on the left side of the Whirling-in-Rags, which should have a little girl standing outside if you're not certain. Go inside, and rather than talk to the shopkeeper, head up the stairs. There'll be an old-looking map on the wall (hold TAB to highlight it if you're not sure where it is). Click on it, and ask the shopkeeper if you can buy the maps. She'll offer you the one of Martinaise, the only one you can get in the whole game.
It'll cost 0.90 real to buy, but you can attempt to steal it with an interfacing check, getting it for nothing. You're probably not very rich at this stage in the game, after all.
How to Use Your Map
You can access your map at any time when you're not in dialogue or mid-interaction. Click on the notebook icon at the bottom to open your task list, then click the word "Map" in the top left, just beneath where it says "Journal." This'll open the map for you to look at. It's not the most detailed thing in the world, and doesn't tell you exactly where you are in it, but it can be useful for getting a sense of your place within the city and checking where everything is in relation to everything else. It also highlights buildings and landmarks of note in darker shades, so if there's anything that looks unfamiliar, it might be worth checking it out.
