Disaster Report 4 Plus: Summer Memories will finally get a western release in 2020
NIS America will release Disaster Report 4 Plus in western markets early next year.
The game, in which players must navigate a city in the wake of a disastrous earthquake, is part of a long-running series.
As in Japan it's coming to PS4 and Switch, but we're also getting a PC version on Steam.
The announcement trailer is below. It looks as though the game will use Japanese voice acting with subtitles.
A version of Disaster Report 4 was in development on PS3 a long time ago, but it was cancelled. The iteration of the game we'll get to play early next year was announced back in 2015. It released in Japan last year.
The game is based around avoiding collapsing structures, meeting up with other survivors, and making decisions that will ultimately impact on how the game progresses. The trailer makes it look like a fairly hopeful experience, all things considered.
The PS4 version will have PS VR support. There's also a limited edition available for PS4 and Switch, which comes with a soundtrack, backpack, ID tag and 'first aid' collector's box.
Hopefully we'll get a more definitive release date sooner rather than later, but for now all we know is that we'll be waiting until next year.
