Dirty Bomb's biggest update yet drops this week
A new mercenary, maps, mode and limited edition Loadout Cards are on the way to Dirty Bomb.
The next Dirty Bomb update arrive son Wednesday. Called Containment War, it's the largest single content drop the free-to-play shooter has received to date.
The centrepiece is probably Execution Mode, a single-life mode played over 12 rounds with the objective of defeating the enemy team or planting a bomb to destroy a containment shield.
Execution is played on the new Overground and Market maps, but a third new map is inbound for use with Objective and Stopwatch. It's called Dome, and it's "colossal", apparently.
Stoker joins the ranks of available characters; they're described as "a Molotov-wielding Mercenary equipped to resupply allies with a deployable ammo station". Additionally anybody who plays Dirty Bomb between October 28 and November 4 will permanently unlock Phoenix, a recently-added medic, at no cost.
Finally, the update brings new limited-edition Containment War Loadout Cards and an all new profile page.
Nexon said developer Splash Damage has been adding content continuously since the open beta began. Additions include load-out card purchasing up to Bronze with in-game currency, matchmaking improvements and private matches, surrender & restart functionality, a report-a-player feature, a new anti-cheat system and more. Might be worth taking another look if you lapsed.
