DICE recruiting for LA studio: job advert points to social, casual & mobile focus

DICE has started recruiting externally to fill roles at its newly-announced Los Angeles studio, which is said to be working on the Star Wars IP. The job descriptors point to a cross-play, asynchronous game with social and mobile facets

The studio tweeted that it was hiring this morning:

DICE's job site now includes a section for the LA outfit, and one particular entry calls for a development manager to, "manage and coordinate the maintenance of EA’s Android and iOS catalogue of games."

Elsewhere, an advert for level designer reads, "We are looking for an experienced individual, who has shipped successful social/mobile products and has maintained a live service product.

"We require a seasoned game designer with experience in cross platform, saved state games/applications. This will be a crucial member of the game team as well as the Product Team responsible for these titles".

This particular listing demands " Experience with both sync and async play behaviors," "Familiarity with a female 35+ gamer demographic," and "Familiarity with the mass casual game space".

Talk of DICE's mobile focus was underlined last night after the studio announced Frostbite engine for mobile. Check out our report here.

So what do you think we're looking at here? Could DICE LA be working on a mobile Star Wars game running on Frostbite? Could all the tall of asynchronous social play point to Battlefront III on mobile? Let us know below.
