Devil Survivor 2 hits pre-order goal, securing European release
Shin Megami Tensei fans have rallied behind a planned European launch of Devil Survivor 2, guaranteeing its release in Europe.
Ghostlight Games announced overnight that pre-orders had hit the required total - 1,800 - to ensure the publisher can bring the game to Europe. that means it attracted over 1,100 orders since August 15.
"I think you’re all aware by now, but we genuinely couldn’t have done this without your incredible support - you have all truly been the difference in making sure that Devil Survivor 2 receives its well deserved European release," the publisher said.
Ghostlight Games hopes to issue a release date soon; it must first complete the manual and send the game to be manufactured.
Pre-orders are, of course, still available for those who haven't yet signed on, but new buyers won't have their names entered in the game's manual as an early supporter.
Devil Survivor 2 is the second entry in yet another branch of the practically forest-like Shin Megami Tensei franchise. The first game was recently re-released for 3DS as Devil Survivor Overclocked, but never made it to Europe on DS despite getting a North American release. Devil Survivor 2 likewise launched on DS in the States but never made it elsewhere, so this will be the first time this particular branch of the Shin Megami Tensei family has made it to Europe on DS.
A 3DS remake of Devil Survivor 2 subtitled Break record has been announced for Japan only.
