Developers go mad for Miyamoto on Mario's 25th anniversary
A whole list of developers have gone goo-goo gaga for Shigeru Miyamoto as Mario hits his 25th anniversary.
Western and Japanese developers all piped up in this week's Famitsu, waxing lyrical about how Miyamoto influenced their work.
"Nintendo didn't just make Super Mario. They made the genre where the hero always follows the correct path," said Bethesda Game Studios' Todd Howard.
"The reason I entered the industry was because I encountered Mario and learned how interesting games can be. Thank you, Mr Shigeru Miyamoto," added Capcom's Keiji Inafune.
Metal Gear big boss Hideo Kojima gave a quote as well: "Shigeru Miyamoto's Super Mario Bros. changed the future not just of games, but for all of entertainment, and for myself as well."
Andriasang has a couple more contributions from other devs such as Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi and Yakuza producer Toshihiro Nagoshi.
