Deus Ex Mankind Divided: Where to find all Side Missions
Deus Ex Mankind Divided: Where to find all the Side Quests / Side Missions
Deus Ex Mankind Divided takes a bit of a different approach to side quests than most of its RPG peers. While it has a number of side-quests, it doesn't flood you with a lot of nearly-identical fetch quests. Instead its side missions are more scarce, but in turn each is more carefully built and distinct from the main story.
In some cases, the smaller stories told in the side missions are actually more satisfying than the main story of the game. There's some good stuff here. They're not always made obvious to you, however - and that's where we come in.
We're not going to tell you the details of each side mission and how to beat them. We'll let you figure that out yourself, and keep this guide free of mission spoilers. Some side quests are miss-able, though - so here's where to find them in the game and when to get each quest started without being spoiled on the quest content.
To be clear, there's quest name spoilers here and vague details, but nothing specific.
Where to find Side Mission 00 / SM00 - Neon Nights
This side mission is available as soon as you gain control of Adam for the first time in Prague. When you leave his apartment for the first time, keep an eye on your map - some floors down in the same apartment building you'll find an apartment that's red on the map. This means it's a restricted area. This apartment is close to the one with the open door that leads to a weapon dealer.
You can either hack the door or use an air vent found in the stairwell to get inside this apartment. You can either stealthily avoid the man inside or take him down. Once you have, check the computer in the kitchen that's hidden beneath a beer box. Checking this computer kicks off this side quest.
Where to find Side Mission 01 / SM01 - The Golden Ticket
The story might push you into this side quest, but depending on your approach to matters you also might miss it entirely. When Adam needs to get to a friend to have some repairs, the obvious route will be on the street level. Not far from his apartment as soon as you gain control of Adam in Prague is a cop.
You can speak to this cop to try to get into the area and he, corrupt as he is, will deny you access. The correct course of action is to be polite and co-operative: this will result in a quest to visit and pay for a forged ID that will give you access to the area. You could just sneak past him, of course, but this side quest leads to some interesting places. Consider following it!
Where to find Side Mission 02 / SM02 - Cult of Personality
This side mission can be found in Prague the first time you're unleashed upon the city. It requires you to head down into the sewers. It sees you investigate a religious cult - it was one of my favourites, but can very easily be missed.
In order to find the quest you'll need to head into the sewers that are directly beneath Adam's apartment building. Find a manhole cover first - the closest one is in an alleyway just to the south of your apartment building. Head down the ladder and turn right, following the tunnel on your left. You'll eventually encounter a man in front of a locked door; this is Viznik. Chat to him to get the quest added to your mission list and get started.
Where to find Side Mission 03 / SM03 - The Mystery Augs
This side mission is nice and easy - you'll be given it as part of the story! You'll have to visit Adam's buddy Koller early on in the game and he'll make a shocking discovery about Adam's augmentations. In the conversation that ensues after he gives you a little in-universe tutorial about your augments, you'll learn new information about Adam's augmented body.
This new information prompts Adam to want to learn more. Head back to his apartment and use the remote on the table to start a video call with an old friend. This mission is a slow burn - from here, it'll remain an open quest, but there'll be nothing you can do. When you later return to Prague, a new phase will unlock, but only if you've placed this call in your first Prague visit.
Where to find Side Mission 04 / SM04 - The Calibrator
This side mission is also gifted to you as part of the story, and at the same time as Side Mission 03, no less. This mission will come in two parts - a larger initial part including a conversation-based persuasion boss battle followed by a smaller part that sees you get your reward.
Completing this mission will get you the very key item of the Neuroplasticity Calibrator. Doing this mission in a certain way will lead to SM09, so be aware of that, and check that mission's entry if you want to know more.
After completing the smaller part in your first adventures in Prague, you can expect your reward the second time you visit as part of SM08. This quest is particularly useful as it'll unlock the ability to stop Adam's augments from overheating him.
Where to find Side Mission 05 / SM05 - Samizdat
You might have heard of Samizdat throughout the story - it's a rogue newspaper that's fighting to offer real news where the Illuminati-controlled newspapers do not. You can grab this side mission once you first arrive at Adam's workplace, TF29, in Prague. The story will take you there.
In one of the upper level corners of the TF29 headquarters you'll find a guy named Peter Chang. Chat to him and he'll get this quest started for you.
Where to find Side Mission 06 / SM06 - 01011000
Side Mission 06 is by far the easiest to miss. The mission first appeared for me after returning to Prague after visiting Golem city. Immediately north of Adam's apartment is a long building that wraps around the corner and then next to that separated by a small alleyway a small, boxy building. In game this is a boarded-up tourist information store.
Directly in front of this store is a digital advertisement board. When you approach it, it'll glitch out and give you a point of interest. If you visit that location, the side mission will begin.
Where to find Side Mission 07 / SM07 - Fade to Black
This mission will be dropped into your lap as you work on the story, specifically after you go into the network that's found inside Miller's office as part of the story. When you leave, you'll run into TF29's Doctor.
If in the conversation you tell her you can help her out, you'll be given this quest and the objective markers you need will appear. Simple.
Where to find Side Mission 08 / SM08 - The Fix
This side mission will appear naturally in your second visit to Prague so long as you completed SM04. Unlike SM09, this doesn't require you to have done certain things in SM04 - you just have to have completed it.
Koller will call you up and ask you to visit. Do so - this is a simple enough quest, and gives you more ability options, so doing this one is a no-brainer.
Where to find Side Mission 09 / SM09 - All in the Family
Back in SM04 you will have met the gangster Otar. If you had the conversation boss battle with him successfully and persuaded him to hand over the Neuroplasticity Calibrator without you having to resort to violence and making him angry, he'll have asked you to do him a favour in Golem City.
In Golem City you can either kill the target he's given you or simply tell him to disappear - either way, Otar will believe the mark dead. When you return to Prague he'll then call you up to give you another job, this quest. This is another great, challenging quest, particularly for non-lethal stealth players.
Where to find Side Mission 10 / SM10 - The Harvester
This mission can also only be triggered once you return back from Golem City for your second stint of time in Prague. At any point during your second Prague stay you should be able to find this mission: there's been a murder right outside Adam's apartment.
Speak to the woman inside the cordened off crime scene and then the detective leading the case. He'll enlist your help, and from there you have to do a bit of detective work and interview some suspects to get more information.
This quest leads directly to SM11, but only if you figure out the truth of the case and inform the detective. Be careful!
Where to find Side Mission 11 / SM11 - The Last Harvest
If you completed SM10 correctly, this mission will trigger automatically when you return to Prague for the third time. The key is ensuring that you don't get the wrong man in SM10.
If you interview correctly and review the evidence, it should become clear to you that this is a copycat killing and the man the police are focused on is not responsible. You present this to the detective, and that's one possible ending of SM10.
This side mission will trigger automatically after a phone call. When you get the call, follow it up immediately - it can disappear.
Where to find Side Mission 12 / SM12 - K is for Kazdy
I'm not sure if this is 100% accurate, but this side quest may be tied to the completion of Samizdat, as it sees the return of characters from that quest. On your third visit to Prague you should get a point of interest down in the sewers. Follow it up and speak with the character little K.
She'll ask for your help. If you accept, you'll have a little bit of stealth to do and then an escort mission.
Deus Ex Mankind Divided: Where to find all Points of Interest (POI) missions
In addition to the story quests and the main side quests,
Point of Interest - Shots Fired
During your first visit to Prague after the opening, directly opposite one of the exits from Adam's apartment you'll find some shady-looking guys standing in a walled-off park area. They'll ask you to give them Neuropozyne in exchange for information.
Do as they ask and one of the pieces of information will allow you to mark this POI on your map, either via a pocket secretary or just automatically.

Point of Interest - Rich Man Poor Aug
On your second visit to Prague after visiting Golem city, you'll find more Neuropozyne-desperate guys hanging out outside the club near Prague's market square. If you did it during your first Prague visit, this is outside the same club from SM00 Neon Lights.
If you chat to them and give them the Neuropozyne they ask for you'll be given the Rich Man Poor Aug point of interest to investigate.

Point of Interest - Give Me a Thug
On your third and final visit to Prague you'll find the city locked down by the police and thus quite hard to travel. However, that's not the end of the people desperate for Neuropozyne. Oh, no! This time you'll find a guy hanging out outside the Libuse Apartments - that's right by Pilgrim Station.
In return for handing over the drugs you'll get the Give Me a Thug point of interest. Be careful sneaking around here - the police shoot on sight!
