Detroit: Become Human Romance - How to Romance North as Markus

Detroit: Become Human drops players into a rendition of 2038 Detroit. The city is an industrial hotspot for the invention and production of android workers, which aid humans with all manner of jobs. The game is broken up into three parts, each with its own main character. There are multiple branching paths in Detroit: Become Human, with multiple endings possible. One of the main characters, Markus, gives players the option to romance a character called North. In this Detroit: Become Human Romance Guide, we’ll break down exactly how to romance North, guiding you through every choice you’ll have to make while playing.

How to Romance North

When playing through Markus’ story, you’ll be introduced to a character called North. The two are extremely close, with North acting as Markus’ right hand for his android revolution. You can also romance her, here’s how to romance North as Markus in Detroit: Become Human.

Jericho Rooftop Scene

• In one of the early missions in the Markus storyline, there is a scene involving North and Markus as they stand on the roof of Jericho headquarters overlooking the city. After a brief conversation, you will be given the option to ask about Norths’s past. Select this option, and she will get defensive and shut you down. You will then be given the option of how to continue.
• Pick the “understanding” option. You will then get a pop-up message, which show’s North’s companion status. This exchange will have increased your standing with her. Next, select the “trust” option from the ones provided. Once again, your standing with North will increase, and a new companion path will be unlocked.
• After describing her past, North will give you the option to “connect”. Pull the right stick down, and after a brief cutscene, North will be unlocked as a “lover”.

Crossroads Chapter

• In a later scene, North informs Markus of a deviant’s plan to detonate a bomb somewhere in the city. North has the detonator, and gives you the choice to either “keep” or “refuse” it. Choose “keep”, which will unlock another path.
• You will then be given the option to kiss North, choose “kiss”.
• In the bomb mission, during the escape, North will get shot, choose to “save North”.
• After the fight, you’ll be given the option to talk to North, pick the “wounds” option to ask her how she is doing. You can pick any option in the next dialogue choice, as you’ll have to go through them all anyway.

Battle for Detroit Chapter

• During the scene where Markus and his group are cornered in the snow, You’ll be given four options. Select “kiss North” which will sway public opinion towards the supportive end of the scale. This will cause the SWAT team to stand down.
