Destiny Xur update: should you buy Year 2 Hawkmoon?
With the current state of hand cannons being what it is, is getting Hawkmoon now a good decision?
Xur has the Year 2 version of Hawkmoon on sale this weekend. Is what was once known as one of the best hand cannons in the game still relevant?
The short answer is no. Although it remains a good hand cannon (and weapon), the reign of terror hand cannons once enjoyed in the Crucible is a thing of the past. On top of that, Hawkmoon's two main perks, Luck in the Chamber and Holding Aces, no longer stack, making for a passable weapon in PvP
You can still find uses for it in the Iron Banner, and it's a relatively decent weapon for PvE, but it's far from a top pick. It also lacks elemental damage, which removes a point from its overall score in PvE.
It's worth picking up if you've never had it, but it's not a killer.
