Destiny launch: cosplay, Fallen spaceships and awkward dancing
Cosplay, freebies and a giant Fallen ship - it can only be a midnight launch for one of the most-anticipated games of the year.
You may not have heard about this, but a little game called Destiny went live today. Activision said it's the most pre-ordered new IP in history, and we have no reason to doubt them.
But despite living in a world where it's possible to preload and get the game as soon as servers go live, that didn't stop a whole bunch of dedicated fans staying up until midnight to grab a physical copy.
Csaba Toth (38) was the first person to grab Destiny at GAME's midnight launch in Stratford. He looks pretty chuffed.
Over in the US, members of the Bungie team went to stores to meet the players, signing games and consoles.
At the Bungie studio something daunting managed to land outside.
The studio opened its doors to players too, inviting them in to play and party.
Of course it wouldn't be a launch without a little cosplay.
Although this one's a little awkward...
Who says Destiny is a PS4 first-party game?
Did you queue for a copy of the game at midnight, or sit at home waiting for the servers to click on?
