Destiny: Bungie unveils new Shrike vehicle, first details & art inside

Destiny developer Bungie has released concept art of the shooter's Shrike vehicle, which looks a lot like the speeder bikes from Star Wars VI: Return of the Jedi.

The Shrike was announced over on the Bungie site, along with a line from art lead Tom Doyle that reads, "If you are a knight of the City, this is your steed.”

Poetic stuff indeed.

Bungie added, "The world of Destiny is an immense frontier. Your missions as a Guardian of the last safe city on Earth will cover a lot of ground. To propel you from one location to the next, no matter which destination you’re fighting to recapture, there is the Shrike.

"It swallows the landscape like a bird of prey with an insatiable appetite for scenery; be it the crimson dunes of Mars, the lush jungles of Venus, the dusty craters of the Moon, or the rusted wastes of our own homeworld."

Your group can summon Shrikes in the world, giving you a quick method of transport when you need it. It also comes with a boost function, and can be upgraded along the way with new paint schemes beyond the starting three designs.
