Destiny 2's first hotfix of 2018 allows non-Curse of Osiris owners access to Iron Banner, Faction Rally
Destiny 2 servers went offline yesterday for five hours for scheduled maintenance, all for the release of one small hotfix.
Destiny 2's hotfix 1.1.1.2, the game's first this year, has indeed been released on all platforms. The change log, as expected, is not massive, but it brings good news to players who do not own Curse of Osiris.
When the expansion first released, a number of the game's activities were inaccessible to players who only own the base game. Bungie reversed this decision with update 1.1.1, and this week's hotfix builds on that.
Now, non-expansion owners will have access to Faction events, and the Iron Banner. The most recently announced Faction Rally event was supposed to go live in December, but Bungie pushed it last minute to correct these errors.
It's safe to assume that the first 2018 Faction Rally will be starting soon, and the same goes for Iron Banner. Here are the patch notes:
Iron Banner
- Players who do not own Curse of Osiris may once again access Iron Banner when available
Faction Rallies
- Players who do not own Curse of Osiris may once again pledge to Factions during Faction Rally events
