AMD issues beta chipset update for Ryzen 3000 Destiny 2 problem
AMD has released an updated chipset driver that should hopefully get Destiny 2 to run on PCs running Ryzen 3000 CPUs.
Earlier this month, new Ryzen 3000 CPU owners, running both 570 and 470 chipsets, ran into problems launching Destiny 2. AMD quickly acknowledged the issue, and has since been working with Bungie and motherboard manufacturers to solve it.
The company has now released an updated, beta chipset driver which should fix this issue. In a Reddit post, AMD technical marketing manager Robert Hallock explained that Destiny 2 simply wasn't part of its benchmark package prior to the Ryzen 3000 launch, hence why the issue was caught post-launch.
So far, response has been positive, with many users chiming in to say that it's fixed the issue for them. It's still unclear what caused it to begin with, but at least the solution appears to have been solid.
You can download the driver at the link above. Alternatively, you may want to wait for a non-beta version if you don't want to run in-development software on your hardware.
