Destiny 2 players find a way to sidestep Calus' adds in the final Leviathan Raid encounter
Destiny 2 players have found a way to defeat Calus, the final boss in the Leviathan Raid, without having to deal with adds.
It's basically an exploit, which will likely be fixed by Bungie at some point.
If you want to do the raid without using the method detailed below (which we recommend) this Destiny 2 walkthrough of the Leviathan Raid, should help. Or if you just need tips on clearing the raid and beating Emperor Calus, we have those too.
Over on reddit, o7yourdesires explains how to make the fight against Calus in the Destiny 2 Leviathan Raid a bit easier without dealing with any adds.
Basically, once you enter the throne room, one Guardian stands by entrance near the blue fire while the other five run up to Calus.
These five players will sacrifices themselves by jumping up to Calus, causing him to stomp them to death. When they are dead, the player by the door steps into the blue flame, dying in the process.
Here's where things become a bit tricky if you don't get the timing right. The player who stepped into the blue flame will need to log or go into orbit when the countdown timer reaches one second.
If done properly, the five players who were squished by Calus will respawn into the throne room and all doors will be open. Because all doors are open at this point, no adds will come into the room. Then, the player who went into orbit or logged can come back in and take on Calus with the rest of the group. The video above from theMoDfatheR provides visual instructions.
Not everyone likes to "cheese" so to speak, but there it is anyway if you want to try it in Destiny 2 before Bungie fixes it.
Folks always find a way to make a hard fight easier, it's just in their nature. You know, like standing under a massive boss Mumak in Osgiliath pew pewing him in the gut and taking almost no damage while the other five in your party take out the trash. Or, just by standing as close to a catapult as possible because the giant demon of an elephant can't seem to hit you as well in that posit. But that's not really an exploit, as much as it is luck or a design flaw.
