Destiny 2 PC: link your Blizzard account now and join the community
Destiny 2 is ready for PC players. Come on down and join the fun.
Destiny 2 won't hit PC for a few months yet, but if you're champing at the bit you can get started right now by signing up to Bungie.net and joining the community.
Since Destiny 2 will make use of Blizzard's infrastructure (we don't call it Battle.net any more, apparently), you can even link your Bungie and Blizzard accounts as of today.
If you have an existing Bungie.net ID, just log in and link your Blizzard ID the same way you would a console ID. If you're new to Bungie.net, you can create a new account in advance of Destiny 2. Find help on Bungie.net's Help pages.
So why would you do this? There are a number of benefits. For starters, Destiny 2 beta codes and bonus goodies will be redeemed through Bungie.net, so you need a linked ID to take advantage of that.
Bungie.net is also where you can create, join and interact with clans, and clans are going to be a much bigger deal in Destiny 2.
In the first Destiny, players were not able to name their characters; their console ID became their Guardian's name, which certainly made it easier to group up but also left us with some pretty silly handles in the Tower. Bungie hasn't said whether this will be the case for Destiny 2, and whether it will apply to PC as well as consoles, but we'd expect it. So let's hope your Blizzard ID isn't too embarrassing.
Destiny 2 releases in September for PS4 and Xbox One, and arrives on PC in October. If you're thinking of making the jump from console, or getting into Bungie's shared worlds shooter, check out the PC section of our Destiny 2 guide for everything we know so far.
We're super excited to see new games join the fun with Destiny 2, so get onto Bungie.net there and find a group to play with.
