Destiny 2: how to farm Imperials
The Season of Opulence is well underway and it's back to the grind to earn some Imperials for your new Chalice of Opulence.
Imperials can be used to upgrade your Chalice of Opulence, which lets you pick the rewards you want to receive after completing the Menagerie. You'll need to finish the Imperials Summons questline to unlock the Menagerie and Imperials.
There are a few ways to earn Imperials and it would be a good idea to go and earn a bucketload of Glimmer before you begin.
Destiny 2: how to farm Imperials
Once you've earned a stack of Glimmer, head to the barge on Nessus where you'll find Werner 99-44 and a bunch of chests. These chests cost roughly 5000 Glimmer each and will net you 150 Imperials per chest.
Completing Menagerie runs is also a surefire way of earning Imperials, though it does require more effort.
Once you've gathered 3000 Imperials, you should purchase the Power and Efficiency 2 Chalice improvement that will allow you to buy a consumable that will increase your odds of receiving 500 Imperials after completing the likes of Gambit, Crucible matches or Strikes.
Werner 99-44 has Weekly Bounties you can complete that will reward you with around 100 Imperials. When you complete one of his Weeklies for the first time, you'll unlock a Triumph which is worth a cool 500 Imperials a time, so make sure you're checking Triumph progress regularly.
Completing Triumphs is definitely the quickest way to building up a bank of Imperials, which will allow you to creep ever closer to the new 750 Power limit. While some are tied to Weekly Bounties, others involve completing levels of the Menagerie before the clock expires, defeating bosses and using Runes in the Chalice.
A new boss will be added to the Menagerie tomorrow and the Truth Exotic weapon quest begins after the reset.
